Supporting the People Behind the Screen: Prime Video Backs Screen Well Foundation
Prime Video is providing foundational support for the newly established Screen Well Foundation, an industry-wide initiative focused on improving mental health and creating safer, more sustainable workplaces across Australia’s screen sector.
The Foundation has been established following the launch of Screen Well’s Mental Health Action Plan (MHAP) in May 2026, an evidence-informed roadmap designed to improve mental health, reduce workplace risks and strengthen psychosocial safety across the Australian screen industry.
As the plan’s central coordinating body, the Screen Well Foundation will help bring the industry together around a more consistent approach and turn its recommendations into practical action.
Supporting the people behind Australian screen stories
Prime Video’s support reflects a commitment to the long-term health of Australia’s screen industry and, importantly, the thousands of people who make it possible.
From cast and crew to production teams and freelancers, improving mental health and workplace wellbeing can have an impact that extends beyond individual productions. Safer, more supportive workplaces can help people build sustainable careers, strengthen the screen workforce and contribute to healthier working communities for the people and families who depend on the industry.

From roadmap to action
One of the Foundation’s first priorities will be encouraging wider adoption of the MHAP’s Phase 1 ACT NOW recommendations, a series of achievable actions that screen workplaces can begin implementing now.
It will then help oversee the rollout of the plan’s Phase 2 and Phase 3 recommendations, supporting longer-term improvements to mental health and workplace practices across the industry.
By helping make wellbeing and psychosocial safety part of everyday workplace practice, the initiative aims to build an Australian screen sector where people can continue to create, contribute and develop their careers in a healthier and more sustainable environment.
Industry voices wanted for new Advisory Board
Screen Well has also opened expressions of interest for its inaugural MHAP Advisory Board, which will help guide the implementation of the plan.
The Foundation is seeking voices from across the industry, including executives, production leaders, freelance crew, workplace health and safety experts, partnerships specialists and people with lived experience of mental health challenges in the sector.
