Apple TV Secures Australian-Made Dustfall for International Release

Apple TV has acquired Dustfall, a six-part crime drama filmed on Queensland’s Gold Coast, for international release in 2027.
The acquisition will give the production a wider international audience, showcasing its Australian setting and the work of a strong Australian creative team.
Emma Freeman directs the series, with Stuart Page, Belinda Chayko and Beatrix Christian joining lead writer Dianne Taylor to adapt Vikki Petraitis’ novel The Unbelieved.
Anna Torv stars as detective Antigone “Tig” Pollard, whose investigation into a sexual assault becomes more complex following a suspect’s death. The case also forces her to revisit secrets from her own adolescence. The ensemble includes Kate Box, Bert LaBonté, Martin Sacks and Gemma Chua-Tran.
Produced by Soapbox Pictures and Moonriver Television for ABC, in association with the BBC, ZDF and Screen Australia, Dustfall connects Australian storytelling and production expertise with international distribution. Apple acquired the series through Federation International.
The release offers audiences overseas an opportunity to discover a drama rooted in an Australian location and shaped by local creative talent.
In Australia, Dustfall will screen on ABC and ABC iview. Apple’s international release is subject to BBC and ZDF premiere rights in their respective territories.
