Australian Star Yvonne Strahovski Takes on Major Role in Apple TV’s Bad Monkey Season 2

Australian actor Yvonne Strahovski is joining the cast of Apple TV’s Bad Monkey for its second season, taking on a major new role alongside Vince Vaughn.
The acclaimed comedy returns globally on 2 December with an all-new story, bringing back Vaughn as former Miami police detective Andrew Yancy while introducing Strahovski as one of the season’s key new cast members.
The Sydney-born actor joins fellow newcomers John Malkovich and Zavior Phillips, alongside returning stars Natalie Martinez, Charlotte Lawrence and John Ortiz.
Strahovski has built an extensive international career across film and television, with roles in The Handmaid’s Tale, Dexter, Chuck and The Tomorrow War. Her performance as Serena Joy Waterford in The Handmaid’s Tale earned her multiple Emmy nominations.
A new mystery for Bad Monkey
Based on the world created by author Carl Hiaasen, the second season of Bad Monkey moves beyond the story of the original novel with a new mystery for Yancy to solve.
After witnessing the murder of a prominent Florida fixer, Yancy becomes involved in the investigation as he continues his efforts to regain his detective’s badge.
The case soon draws him into a turf war between rival criminal organisations and a colourful collection of new characters, while he also deals with his complicated relationship with Dr. Rosa Campesino, played by Natalie Martinez.
The 10-episode season comes from creator and executive producer Bill Lawrence, whose television credits include Ted Lasso and Shrinking. Vaughn also serves as an executive producer.
For Strahovski, Bad Monkey marks another major international television role in a career that has seen the Australian actress become a familiar presence on screens around the world.
Bad Monkey Season 2 premieres globally on Apple TV on 2 December, with new episodes released weekly through 3 February 2027.
