Netflix’s Queenstown Showcases Australian and New Zealand Creative Talent

Netflix's upcoming drama Queenstown brings together leading creative talent from both Australia and New Zealand in the streaming service's first ANZ-commissioned series to be set and filmed in New Zealand.
Currently in production, the eight-part series is produced by Australian production company Silent Firework and its subsidiary Runaway Unicorn, led by Jodi Matterson and Libbie Doherty. Matterson's previous credits include The Dry and The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, while Doherty has worked across Australian productions including Bluey and Crazy Fun Park. Both serve as executive producers on the series.
Australian Director Glendyn Ivin, known for The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart and Penguin Bloom, is lead director and executive producer, working alongside acclaimed New Zealand director Roseanne Liang.

The cast reflects the project's cross-Tasman collaboration, featuring Australian actors Frances O'Connor and Alycia Debnam-Carey alongside British actor Rufus Sewell and New Zealand actor Te Kohe Tuhaka.
Set against the backdrop of Queenstown's luxury ski community, the series follows a privileged family and the people who work for them as tensions emerge around power, loyalty and desire.
Created and written by Chloe Stearns, Queenstown marks Netflix's first ANZ-commissioned series to be both set and filmed in New Zealand. The production highlights the close collaboration between Australian and New Zealand creative industries, bringing together producers, filmmakers and performers from both countries to create premium content for global audiences.
The series is currently filming across New Zealand and will premiere globally on Netflix, with a release date yet to be announced.
