Netflix Orders Australian Adult Animated Comedy Dad’s House

Netflix has announced a new Australian adult animated comedy series, Dad’s House, adding to its growing slate of locally created productions.

Set in suburban small town Australia, the series follows thirteen year old Sean, who spends every second weekend with his easygoing but often chaotic father, Ian. While Ian means well, fitting meaningful father son bonding into a single weekend rarely goes to plan, creating the foundation for the show’s offbeat humour and family dynamics.

The series is led by Australian creatives Michael Cusack, Dario Russo and David Ashby, whose previous work includes Smiling Friends, YOLO, Danger 5 and Italian Spiderman.

Produced by Melbourne based production company Princess Pictures together with Bento Box Entertainment, the voice cast also features Australian comedian and actress Felicity Ward.

The commission highlights continued investment in Australian storytelling and creative talent within the global streaming landscape, while also showcasing the strength of Australia’s animation and comedy production sector.
