Greyhound 2 Starts Filming in Sydney

Feb 13, 2026

Production has commenced in Sydney on Greyhound 2, the follow up to the Academy Award nominated World War II film, with the project supported by Screen NSW through the Made in NSW Fund.

The Apple Original Film brings together Tom Hanks, who also returns as writer, and Stephen Graham, and is expected to deliver significant economic benefits, with estimates of more than AUD100 million in local spend and around 500 jobs created for cast and crew.

The sequel continues the story of Captain Krause and his crew, shifting the setting from the Atlantic theatre to new wartime fronts, while reuniting key creative talent including director Aaron Schneider and producer Gary Goetzman. Production will also extend into post, digital and visual effects work within New South Wales, supported by the state’s PDV rebate.

The project forms part of a broader pipeline of major productions choosing New South Wales as a base. Recent and upcoming titles supported through the Made in NSW Fund include Send Help, The Artful Dodger, Apex and Street Fighter, reflecting sustained demand for the state’s production capabilities.

Taken together, these projects highlight the continued role of New South Wales as a key destination for both local and international productions, supported by a combination of incentives, infrastructure and skilled workforce.
