Disney+ to Livestream Major Global Music Festivals for Australian Audiences

Jun 20, 2026

Disney+ will expand its live entertainment offering in Australia this year, announcing plans to livestream three of the world's biggest music festivals for local subscribers for the first time.

Under a new arrangement with Live Nation, Australian audiences will be able to watch Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Music Festival live on Disney+, while the events will continue to stream on Hulu in the United States.

The move marks a further step in the evolution of streaming platforms beyond on demand programming, with live events becoming an increasingly important part of their content strategy.

The festival line-up features a strong Australian and New Zealand presence, including internationally acclaimed act RÜFÜS DU SOL, who will headline both Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits, alongside New Zealand artist Lorde at Lollapalooza. Australian artists Empire of the Sun, 5 Seconds of Summer, Alison Wonderland, Spacey Jane, Ninajirachi and Ecca Vandal are also scheduled to perform, giving local talent exposure to audiences around the world.

In addition to the live broadcasts, Disney+ will produce behind the scenes content and artist interviews through its on-site Live Set studio, offering viewers exclusive access throughout each festival weekend.

The Australian livestream schedule will begin with Bonnaroo in June, followed by Lollapalooza in late July and Austin City Limits in October.

The initiative reflects the growing role of streaming platforms in delivering live cultural experiences alongside scripted and unscripted programming, while providing new opportunities for artists and audiences to connect on a global scale.
