Disney+ Renews The Artful Dodger for Third and Final Season

Disney+ has renewed Australian original series The Artful Dodger for a third and final season, with filming set to return to Sydney in the coming months.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster, David Thewlis and Australian actor Maia Mitchell will reprise their roles as Dr Jack Dawkins, Norbert Fagin and Lady Belle Fox, continuing the story following the events of season two.
The new season will also see the return of key Australian creatives behind the series. Curio Pictures’ Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner return as executive producers and producers, with Chris Martin-Jones serving as series producer. Ben Young and Ben C. Lucas will return to direct.
Andrew Knight will once again lead the scripting as executive producer, alongside script producer Dan Knight, who has written across all three seasons.
The renewal will bring another major Disney+ production to Sydney, supporting Australian cast, crew and creatives while showcasing locally produced storytelling to audiences around the world.
Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand, said the third season would take audiences further into the world of The Artful Dodger, with more twists and turns ahead for the fan-favourite series.
She also pointed to the renewal as recognition of the quality of the production and the team behind it, and an opportunity to continue bringing Australian storytelling and creative talent to global audiences through Disney+ and Hulu.
Curio Pictures Managing Director and Executive Producer Jo Porter said the team was looking forward to returning to the series for its final chapter, building on the mix of adventure, humour and romance that audiences have embraced across the first two seasons.
The third season is expected to be even more ambitious as the Australian production returns to Sydney to bring the story to a close.
