Sep 14, 2026

Australian stories, talent and productions are finding big audiences in the US, with Bluey, The Pitt, War Machine, Apex and Anaconda all featuring among Nielsen’s most-streamed titles for the first half of 2026.

Leading the Australian success stories is Bluey, which ranked as the second most-streamed show in the US with an impressive 22.81 billion minutes viewed.

Created in Australia and produced by Brisbane-based Ludo Studio, Bluey has become one of Australia’s biggest screen exports. Its latest US streaming figures show just how far the homegrown series continues to travel, reaching millions of families well beyond Australia.

Australian talent also featured near the top of the television rankings. HBO Max drama The Pitt, featuring Australian actress Shabana Azeez, was the third most-streamed show in the US, recording 21.12 billion minutes viewed.

There was a strong Australian presence on the movie list too. Netflix’s War Machine, filmed in Victoria, ranked second among streaming movies, while Apex, also filmed in Australia, came in seventh. Anaconda, which filmed in Queensland, rounded out the Australian-connected titles in the top 10 at number nine.

From a homegrown Australian series finding a huge international audience to major productions choosing Australia as a filming destination, the Nielsen rankings offer another snapshot of Australia’s growing presence on screens around the world.

Streaming is playing an important part in that reach, giving Australian stories, talent and production expertise a pathway to audiences well beyond our shores.
