Apple TV’s First Original Filmed in Australia, Last Seen, Brings Victoria to Global Audiences
A new Australian thriller is heading to global audiences, with Apple TV’s Last Seen set to premiere worldwide on Wednesday, 9 September.
Starring Australian actor Patrick Brammall, the gripping new drama is entirely set and filmed in Victoria, putting Australian locations and talent at the heart of a story that will reach viewers around the world.
Brammall plays Ian Ridley, a police detective whose life fell apart 11 years ago when his young daughter Maggie disappeared without a trace. Now working as a police dispatcher, he has never given up hope of finding her.
When Ian receives a distress call from a teenage girl he believes could be Maggie, he is drawn back into the mystery of her disappearance and will stop at nothing to uncover the truth.
The series features a strong Australian ensemble alongside Brammall, including Australian actors Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall and Zahra Newman,.
Behind the camera, Australian production expertise is also represented, with Joanna Werner of Werner Film Productions serving as an executive producer. Werner’s Australian credits include The Newsreader, Riot and Clickbait.
Produced by 60Forty Films, Last Seen is adapted by writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa from Ryan David Jahn’s award-winning novel The Dispatcher, with Christian Schwochow directing and executive producing.
With Victoria serving as both the production base and the setting for the story, Last Seen is another Australian-made production bringing local talent, locations and screen expertise to audiences around the world.
Last Seen premieres globally on Apple TV on Wednesday, 9 September, with two episodes available at launch, followed by a new episode every Wednesday through 7 October 2026.
